Opposing Tyson's Place Condominiums
The Tyson's Place Condominium project envisions 20 condominiums built on the open lot west of 257th Avenue, just north of SW Sturges Drive, and east of SW Edgefield Avenue. The current blueprint calls for road access to these condominiums from SW 10th St. and Edgefield Ave, not the main throughfare of 257th Avenue. (view site map)
- Will Lower Home Property Values
- Increased Traffic on Sturges Dr. and through Sedona Park
- Parking Overflow into Sedona Park
- Slope Stability
- Destroys safe play environment for our childrend
- Eliminates fantastic Columbia Gorge View
After the City Planning commission approved the Tyson's Place project, the residents of Sedona Park appealed to the City Council to hear our side of the story. After several hearings and tens of hours of public testimony from both sides, the Council voted 4-2 to allow the Tyson's Place project to continue, but with an added stipulation of NO ACCESS to Tyson's place from the Sedona Park neighborhood.
This was viewed as a win from the Sedona Park corner, as the access to Tyson's Place from SW Edgefield was our biggest objection from our liviability standpoint! We would like to thank all the residents of Sedona Park and surrounding neighborhoods for coming out and showing our opposition to the Tyson's Place project, plus we would like to send a big "Thank You!" out to all the Council members who stood by us in the end.
